UN General Assembly Resolution 181 -- Future Government of Palestine.pdf (269 KB) This is the UN General Resolution that created the state of Israel. It was one of the hardest to read documents I have read.
I like the United Nations. I really do. But it seems to me that they are ineffective and weak. This is due in part to the reluctance of nations to give any power to the UN. It is also due to the process of compromise and negotiations that produce the UN's decisions.
Maybe the problems with the UN are due to the number of parties that have a say and need to be appeased. As Sir Alec Issigonis said,
"A camel is a horse designed by committee."
